The weakness was disclosed 04/26/2015 by Klikki Oy as WordPress 4.2 Stored XSS as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at klikki.fi. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3440 since 04/28/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
