The ProcPutImage function in dix/dispatch.c in X.Org Server (aka xserver and xorg-server) before 1.16.4 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (divide-by-zero and crash) via a zero-height PutImage request.
The weakness was presented 04/24/2015 by Marcus Meissner as confirmed mailinglist post (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-3418 since 04/24/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
