A vulnerability was found in ProFTPD 1.3.4e/1.3.5 (File Transfer Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component mod_copy. The mod_copy module in ProFTPD 1.3.5 allows remote attackers to read and write to arbitrary files via the site cpfr and site cpto commands.
The weakness was released 05/18/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3306 since 04/15/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known.
