Xen 3.3.x through 4.5.x does not properly restrict access to PCI MSI mask bits, which allows local x86 HVM guest users to cause a denial of service (unexpected interrupt and host crash) via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was released 06/02/2015 by Jan Beulich with SuSE as XSA-129 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at xenbits.xen.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2015-4104 since 05/27/2015. The exploitability is told to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.
