The OpenID module in Drupal 6.x before 6.36 and 7.x before 7.38 allows remote attackers to log into other users' accounts by leveraging an OpenID identity from certain providers, as demonstrated by the Verisign, LiveJournal, and StackExchange providers.

The weakness was disclosed 06/22/2015 (Website). The advisory is available at drupal.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3234 since 04/10/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 84291 (Drupal 6.x < 6.36 OpenID Security Bypass), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 123982 (Fedora Security Update for drupal7 (FEDORA-2015-10189)).

Upgrading to version 6.36 or 7.38 eliminates this vulnerability.
