A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Linksys WRT160N 2.0.03 build 009 (Router Operating System). This issue affects an unknown code of the file apply.cgi. The bug was discovered 12/01/2012. The weakness was disclosed 02/11/2013 by Michael Messner (m1k3) with s3cur1ty as m1adv2013-012 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared at s3cur1ty.de. The public release happened without involvement of Linksys. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-2678 since 03/22/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
