The issue has been introduced in 02/19/2013. The weakness was disclosed 02/25/2013 by Adam Gowdiak with Security Explorations as SE-2012-01 / Issue 55 as not defined mailinglist post (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. The public release happened without involvement of Oracle. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available.
