CFNetwork in Apple iOS before 9.1 and OS X before 10.11.1 does not properly consider the uppercase-versus-lowercase distinction during cookie parsing, which allows remote web servers to overwrite cookies via unspecified vectors.

The weakness was released 10/21/2015 by Marvin Scholz, Xiaofeng Zheng, Jinjin Liang, Jian Jiang, Haixin Duan, Shuo Chen, Tao Wan and Nicholas Weaver with Microsoft as HT205370 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-7023 since 09/16/2015. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
