A vulnerability has been found in Apple iOS up to 9.0 (Smartphone Operating System) and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component IOHIDFamily. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. IOHIDFamily in Apple iOS before 9.1, OS X before 10.11.1, and watchOS before 2.0.1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code in a privileged context or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted app.
The weakness was shared 10/21/2015 as HT205370 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-6974 since 09/16/2015.
