A vulnerability was found in Adobe Acrobat 5.0/5.0.5/5.0.6 on Unix (Document Reader Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file File Name Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The bug was discovered 08/12/2004. The weakness was presented 08/13/2004 by Greg MacManus with iDefense (Website). The advisory is shared for download at idefense.com.
