The kernel in Apple OS X before 10.11.1 allows local users to gain privileges by leveraging an unspecified "type confusion" during Mach task processing.
The weakness was published 10/21/2015 by Filippo Bigarella as HT205375 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-5932 since 08/06/2015. The attack needs to be approached locally. The successful exploitation requires a single authentication. A type confusion issue existed in the validation of Mach tasks. This issue was addressed through improved Mach task validation.
