The weakness was released 10/21/2015 with m00nbsd as HT205375 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-6988 since 09/16/2015. The attack can only be done within the local network. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. An uninitialized memory issue existed in the kernel. This issue was addressed through improved memory initialization.
