A vulnerability was found in Apple Safari up to 9.0 (Web Browser) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality of the component WebKit. Multiple memory corruption issues existed in WebKit. These issues were addressed through improved memory handling.

The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 124198 (Apple iTunes Prior to 12.3.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APPLE-SA-2015-10-21-5)).

Upgrading to version 9.0.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
