A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS up to 9.2.0 (Smartphone Operating System). It has been declared as critical. The IOHIDFamily API in Apple iOS before 9.2.1, OS X before 10.11.3, and tvOS before 9.1.1 allows local users to gain privileges or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was released 01/19/2016 by Ian Beer with Google Project Zero as HT205732 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-1719 since 01/13/2016. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. A memory corruption issue existed in an IOHIDFamily API. This issue was addressed through improved memory handling.
