A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in OpenJPEG 2016.1.18 (Image Processing Software). Affected is the function opj_tgt_reset of the component JPEG 2000 Image Handler. The opj_tgt_reset function in OpenJpeg 2016.1.18 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read and application crash) via a crafted JPEG 2000 image.
The weakness was disclosed 01/27/2016 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2016-1924 since 01/18/2016.
