CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in MariaDB up to 5.5.46/10.0.22/10.1.9 (Database Software). This affects the function ssl_verify_server_cert of the file sql-common/client.c. The manipulation of the argument /CN= with the input value /OU=/CN=bar.com/CN=foo.com. leads to a 7pk security vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-254. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, and integrity. The summary by CVE is:

The ssl_verify_server_cert function in sql-common/client.c in MariaDB before 5.5.47, 10.0.x before 10.0.23, and 10.1.x before 10.1.10, Oracle MySQL, and Percona Server do not properly verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via a "/CN=" string in a field in a certificate, as demonstrated by "/OU=/CN=bar.com/CN=foo.com."

The weakness was published 01/27/2016 by Alex Gaynor (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at mariadb.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2016-2047 since 01/22/2016.
