A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Privoxy up to 3.0.23. Affected by this issue is the function client_host of the file parsers.c of the component HTTP Host Header Handler. The client_host function in parsers.c in Privoxy before 3.0.24 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (invalid read and crash) via an empty HTTP Host header.
The weakness was shared 01/27/2016 by Fabian Keil (Website). The advisory is available at privoxy.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-1983 since 01/20/2016.
