The jas_matrix_clip function in jas_seq.c in JasPer 1.900.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (invalid read and application crash) via a crafted JPEG 2000 image.
The weakness was released 02/08/2016 with Qihoo 360 (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-2089 since 01/27/2016. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
