Details
A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Netgear Management System NMS300 up to 1.5.0.11 (Router Operating System). This affects an unknown part of the file data/config/image.do. The manipulation of the argument realName with the input value .. leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, and integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in data/config/image.do in NETGEAR Management System NMS300 1.5.0.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the realName parameter.
