Details
A vulnerability has been found in Wireshark 2.0.0/2.0.1 (Packet Analyzer Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function dissect_nhdr_extopt of the file epan/dissectors/packet-lbmc.c of the component LBMC Dissector. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does
not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the
properties that are required to process the data safely and
correctly. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The dissect_nhdr_extopt function in epan/dissectors/packet-lbmc.c in the LBMC dissector in Wireshark 2.0.x before 2.0.2 does not validate length values, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (stack-based buffer overflow and application crash) via a crafted packet.
