Upgrading to version 4.4.0rc4, 4.3.6, 4.2.9 or 4.1.23 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. It is possible to mitigate the problem by applying the configuration setting unix extensions = no; server min protocol = SMB2. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be patching the affected component.
