WebKit in Apple iOS before 9.3 and Safari before 9.1 does not properly restrict redirects that specify a TCP port number, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended port restrictions via a crafted web site.
The weakness was disclosed 03/21/2016 by Muneaki Nishimura as HT206166 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-1782 since 01/13/2016. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
