A Qualcomm Power Management kernel driver in Android 6.x before 2016-04-01 allows attackers to gain privileges via a crafted application that leverages root access, aka internal bug 26866053.
The weakness was published 04/04/2016 as ANDROID-26866053 as confirmed security bulletin (Website). The advisory is available at source.android.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-2411 since 02/18/2016. Local access is required to approach this attack. The requirement for exploitation is a simple authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
