A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in ThWboard (Forum Software) (the affected version is unknown). Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file do_login.php. The manipulation of the argument source with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is integrity.
The bug was discovered 11/02/2003. The weakness was shared 11/03/2003 by ThWboard Staff with ThWboard (Website). The advisory is available at cvs.sourceforge.net. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
