CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Redmine up to 2.6.7/3.0.5/3.1.1 (Project Management Software). Affected is the function valid_back_url of the file app/controllers/application_controller.rb. The manipulation of the argument back_url with the input value @attacker.com leads to a redirect vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-601. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Open redirect vulnerability in the valid_back_url function in app/controllers/application_controller.rb in Redmine before 2.6.7, 3.0.x before 3.0.5, and 3.1.x before 3.1.1 allows remote attackers to redirect users to arbitrary web sites and conduct phishing attacks via a crafted back_url parameter, as demonstrated by "@attacker.com," a different vulnerability than CVE-2014-1985.

The weakness was presented 04/12/2016 by Matthias Geerdsen (Website). The advisory is available at debian.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-8474 since 12/03/2015. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1204.001 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 87293 (FreeBSD : redmine -- open redirect vulnerability (3ec2e0bc-9ed7-11e5-8f5c-002590263bf5)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family FreeBSD Local Security Checks and running in the context l. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 175683 (Debian Security Update for redmine (DSA 3529-1)).

Upgrading to version 2.6.8, 3.0.6 or 3.1.2 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (87293) and SecurityFocus (BID 78625†). See VDB-82216, VDB-82217 and VDB-82219 for similar entries. If you want to get best quality of vulnerability data, you may have to visit VulDB.
