The weakness was published 04/12/2016 with Microsoft as MS16-042 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2016-0127 since 12/04/2015. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 90436 (MS16-042: Security Update for Microsoft Office (3148775)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 110271 (Microsoft Office Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities (MS16-042)).
