A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Xymon up to 4.1.x/4.2.x/4.3.24. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the file web/useradm.c of the component xymond. The manipulation of the argument adduser_name with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-77. xymond in Xymon 4.1.x, 4.2.x, and 4.3.x before 4.3.25 allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in the adduser_name argument in (1) web/useradm.c or (2) web/chpasswd.c.
