A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in MySource (version now known). This affects some unknown processing of the file header.php. The manipulation of the argument bgcolor with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. This is going to have an impact on integrity.
The bug was discovered 09/30/2005. The weakness was published 10/18/2005 by Secunia Security Advisories with Secunia (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at secunia.com. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
