A vulnerability was found in NetOffice (unknown version) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file sendpassword.php. The manipulation of the argument loginForm with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was shared 03/28/2006 by retrogod (Website). The advisory is shared at gentoo.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2006-1495. The attack may be initiated remotely. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1505 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by rgod and been published before and not just after the advisory. The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:sendpassword.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 35257 (GLSA-200812-20 : phpCollab: Multiple vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Gentoo Local Security Checks.
It is possible to mitigate the problem by adding an authentication mechanism.
