A vulnerability has been found in Accellion File Transfer Appliance up to FTA_9_12 (File Transfer Software) and classified as problematic. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities on the Accellion File Transfer Appliance (FTA) before FTA_9_12_40 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via unspecified input to (1) getimageajax.php, (2) move_partition_frame.html, or (3) wmInfo.html.
The weakness was disclosed 05/07/2016 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-2350 since 02/12/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Upgrading to version FTA_9_12_40 eliminates this vulnerability.
