A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in SAP NetWeaver (Solution Stack Software) (version now known). This issue affects some unknown processing of the component EPS RFC Function Group. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authentication vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-287. When an actor claims to have a given identity, the product does not prove or insufficiently proves that the claim is correct. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was published 06/17/2012 by Alexey Tyurin with ERPScan as DSECRG-12-030 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at erpscan.com. The public release has been coordinated with SAP. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
