Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 through 8 does not properly restrict data access by VBScript, which allows remote attackers to perform cross-domain reading of JSON files via a crafted web site, aka "JSON Array Information Disclosure Vulnerability."

The weakness was released 05/14/2013 by Yosuke Hasegawa as MS13-037 as confirmed bulletin (Microsoft Technet). It is possible to read the advisory at technet.microsoft.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-1297 since 01/12/2013. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
