A vulnerability was found in Apple Mac OS X up to 10.11.4 (Operating System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the component IOAudioFamily. The weakness was published 05/16/2016 by Jack Tang (lokihardt) with Zero Day Initiative as HT206567 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-1820 since 01/13/2016. The attack needs to be approached locally. A single authentication is required for exploitation. Upgrading to version 10.11.5 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
