A vulnerability has been found in Moodle up to 2.6.11/2.7.10/2.8.8/2.9.2 (Learning Management Software) and classified as critical. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in auth/db/auth.php in Moodle through 2.6.11, 2.7.x before 2.7.13, 2.8.x before 2.8.11, 2.9.x before 2.9.5, and 3.0.x before 3.0.3 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via an external DB profile field.
The weakness was shared 05/22/2016 (Website). The advisory is available at moodle.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-2152 since 01/29/2016. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
