Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file setup/frames/index.inc.php of the component BBcode Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a injection vulnerability. setup/frames/index.inc.php in phpMyAdmin 4.0.10.x before 4.0.10.16, 4.4.15.x before 4.4.15.7, and 4.6.x before 4.6.3 allows remote attackers to conduct BBCode injection attacks against HTTP sessions via a crafted URI.

The weakness was disclosed 07/03/2016 by Emanuel Bronshtein (Website). The advisory is available at phpmyadmin.net. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-5701 since 06/16/2016. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
