A vulnerability has been found in Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite (Application Server Software) (the affected version is unknown) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component Pivotal Spring Framework. The manipulation as part of a XML File leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Pivotal Spring Framework before 3.2.14 and 4.x before 4.1.7 do not properly process inline DTD declarations when DTD is not entirely disabled, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption and out-of-memory errors) via a crafted XML file.
The weakness was shared 07/12/2016 as 1239002 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at jira.spring.io. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3192 since 04/10/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
