A vulnerability has been found in PowerDNS up to 3.4.9 (Domain Name Software) and classified as critical. The weakness was presented 09/09/2016 by Florian Heinz and Martin Kluge as PowerDNS Security Advisory 2016-01 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at doc.powerdns.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-5426 since 06/10/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely.
