A vulnerability has been found in EMC ViPR SRM up to 3.7.1 (Supplier Relationship Management Software) and classified as critical. EMC ViPR SRM before 3.7.2 does not restrict the number of password-authentication attempts, which makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain access via a brute-force guessing attack.
The weakness was disclosed 09/18/2016 by Eric Flokstra (Website). The advisory is available at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-0922 since 12/17/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
