A vulnerability classified as very critical has been found in GD Graphics Library up to 2.2.3 (Image Processing Software). Affected is the function gdImageWebpCtx of the file gd_webp.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a integer overflow vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-190. Integer overflow in the gdImageWebpCtx function in gd_webp.c in the GD Graphics Library (aka libgd) through 2.2.3, as used in PHP through 7.0.11, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer overflow) or possibly have unspecified other impact via crafted imagewebp and imagedestroy calls.
The weakness was published 09/28/2016 by Ke Liu with Tencent as DSA 3693-1 (Website). The advisory is available at bugs.php.net. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2016-7568 since 09/09/2016.
