RealNetworks RealPlayer 16.0.2.32 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource consumption or application crash) via an HTML document containing JavaScript code that constructs a long string.

The weakness was disclosed 07/02/2013 by Akshaysinh Vaghela with Cyberoam as confirmed mailinglist post (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with RealNetworks. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-3299 since 04/26/2013. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
