A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Mozilla Firefox up to 49 on Windows (Web Browser). This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component Updater. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-5293. The exploitation is known to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. The successful exploitation needs a simple authentication. Upgrading to version 50 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
