This vulnerability affects the function che_configure of the file libavcodec/aacdec_template.c of the component MOV File Handler. The che_configure function in libavcodec/aacdec_template.c in FFmpeg before 3.2.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (allocation of huge memory, and being killed by the OS) via a crafted MOV file.
The bug was discovered 12/23/2016. The weakness was shared 12/23/2016 with Qihoo 360 (Website). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2016-9561 since 11/22/2016.
