An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 10.2.1 is affected. The issue involves the "Contacts" component. It allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted contact card.
The bug was discovered 01/23/2017. The weakness was disclosed 12/29/2016 by vincedes3 as Bug: crash Message application by MMS on iOS as confirmed article (Website). The advisory is shared at vincedes3.com. The public release happened without involvement of Apple. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2017-2368 since 12/01/2016.
