A vulnerability was found in Adobe Flash Player up to 24.0.0.186 (Multimedia Player Software). It has been declared as critical. Adobe Flash Player versions 24.0.0.186 and earlier have an exploitable memory corruption vulnerability related to processing of atoms in MP4 files. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution.
The bug was discovered 01/10/2017. The weakness was presented 01/10/2017 by Francis Provencher with Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs as APSB17-02 as confirmed security bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared for download at helpx.adobe.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-2926 since 12/02/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
