A vulnerability has been found in Adobe Flash Player up to 24.0.0.186 (Multimedia Player Software) and classified as critical. Adobe Flash Player versions 24.0.0.186 and earlier have an exploitable heap overflow vulnerability related to texture compression. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution.
The bug was discovered 01/10/2017. The weakness was shared 01/10/2017 by Google Security Research with Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs as APSB17-02 as confirmed security bulletin (Website). The advisory is available at helpx.adobe.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-2933 since 12/02/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
