A vulnerability has been found in GnuTLS up to 3.3.25/3.5.7 (Network Encryption Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the component OpenPGP Certificate Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Stack-based buffer overflow in the cdk_pk_get_keyid function in lib/opencdk/pubkey.c in GnuTLS before 3.3.26 and 3.5.x before 3.5.8 allows remote attackers to have unspecified impact via a crafted OpenPGP certificate.
The bug was discovered 01/11/2017. The weakness was presented 01/11/2017 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at gnutls.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-5336 since 01/10/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
