Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator up to 4.6.6 Build 176 (Endpoint Management Software). Affected is an unknown function of the file core/showRegisteredTypeDetails.do. The manipulation of the argument uid as part of a GET Request leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 4.6.6 and earlier, and the ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) extension for McAfee Agent (MA) 4.5 and 4.6, allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the uid parameter to (1) core/showRegisteredTypeDetails.do and (2) EPOAGENTMETA/DisplayMSAPropsDetail.do, a different vulnerability than CVE-2013-0140.
The bug was discovered 06/08/2013. The weakness was shared 07/12/2013 by Nuri Fattah with NATO Computer Incident Response Capability as KB78824 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website).
