A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in PHP up to 7.0.14/7.1.0 (Programming Language Software). This issue affects the function php_wddx_pop_element of the file ext/wddx/wddx.c. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. The php_wddx_pop_element function in ext/wddx/wddx.c in PHP 7.0.x before 7.0.15 and 7.1.x before 7.1.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and application crash) via an inapplicable class name in a wddxPacket XML document, leading to mishandling in a wddx_deserialize call.

The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-10162 since 01/24/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
