A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick up to 6.9.6/7.0.3 (Image Processing Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function WaveletDenoiseImage of the file MagickCore/fx.c. Heap overflow in the WaveletDenoiseImage function in MagickCore/fx.c in ImageMagick before 6.9.6-4 and 7.x before 7.0.3-6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted image.
The bug was discovered 10/15/2016. The weakness was disclosed 01/27/2017 by Bastien Roucaries (Website). The advisory is shared at openwall.com.
