A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in WordPress up to 4.7.1 (Content Management System). Affected is an unknown code block of the file wp-includes/class-wp-query.php of the component WP_Query. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. SQL injection vulnerability in wp-includes/class-wp-query.php in WP_Query in WordPress before 4.7.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands by leveraging the presence of an affected plugin or theme that mishandles a crafted post type name.

The bug was discovered 01/26/2017. The weakness was released 01/30/2017 by Security Team with WordPress Security Team (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com.
